Overland expedition equipment

The two expedition vehicles will be kitted out, so that the expedition team are completely self sufficient. This will include roof tents, portable showers and cooking equipment. Colin's vehicle will be converted into a self-contained unit that will provide space to build a retractable bed and storage compartments for his specific equipment.
There will be a comprehensive medical kit and safety equipment to deal with all eventualities and the team will have been trained in off road driving, first aid and navigation.
We have selected below specific items of kit of interest.

  • Howling Moon Roof Tents and Awnings

tents

Made of rugged canvas these tents will be extremely durable and will last well over the length of the expedition. The awning is very quick and easy to put up and will offer essential shade for the team when they take breaks from driving.

  • Transmission cooler - from Allisport

oil cooler

Past overland expeditions have found that Automatic vehicles tend to overheat, especially at altitude. The transmission cooler will aim to minimise the risk of this during Driving Home.

  • The food

kitchen

The team will be taking basic foodstuffs, including Marmite and Oxo cubes! But hope to buy most of their food and fresh produce locally.

  • Still to come:
